I wonder if Blackbeard is related to Luffy and Ace?) Turns out he was killing time on Jaya, seaching for a worthy opponent to pursue. Having got that out of the way, I would like to move on to discuss the Massive Secret you guys have been keeping from me! (Really, though, how did you do it? It must have been torture!) Cherry Pie Guy is only motherfucking Blackbeard! Or should I say, Marshall D. He roared “Where are you going, Strawhat?” And Luffy turned, holding up a blood-soaked fist, stared at them, said, “Where am I going?” He paused just long enough to let the assembled douche crew shit themselves, before cheerfully adding, “The sky.” Oh, Luffy. Luffy smashing him in the jaw was amazing… I loved that moment when Bellamy’s number one sycophant second-in-command tried to goad Luffy into fighting him (bitch, please). As I said before, Bellamy shares Crocodile’s opinions about the naivete of dreamers, but has none of his power or class. There’s nothing more irritating than a strutting, irritating knob who wins a few battles and thinks he’s king shit.
That may sound like heresy, but I had respect for Crocodile. Even more so than watching Luffy beat Crocodile. Witnessing Luffy cave Bellamy’s face in was incredibly satisfying. (Thank you, anime team!) Luffy arrived at Mock Town just before the end of episode 150, with enough time to build up a cliffhanger of such magnitude that I couldn’t stop myself powering through to 151. I figured the next episode would be dedicated to a race against time, but the anime team were merciful and did not add one iota of unwanted filler.
While the Strawhats hung back to fix the Going Merry (another petty crime I wanted to punch the Douche Crew for myself), Luffy cracked his knuckles and ran along the Coast to Mock Town. By beating up the good-natured Saruyama brothers and Montblanc Cricket, who is just living his life on Jaya, trying to find that damned gold, Bellamy crossed the Moral Event Horizon.
Extractor fan, please?Įpisode 150 pretty much functioned to build up the conflict between Luffy and Bellamy to a ‘point of no return’. Seriously, so much happened in 151 that I think my brain may have overheated a little. Little did I know how hard the maelstrom of awesome that is 151 would hit.
